Program Description: This program is used to change the IN/OUT threshold for the Swipe and Go punches or punches downloaded from a HandPunch clock. The IN/OUT threshold determines whether the new punch being added to the TimeSource Time and Attendance software is an IN or OUT punch.
IMPORTANT: If your company is using a HandPunch clock or have employees set to Swipe and Go where employee shifts are greater than 13 hour you should consider downloading and installing this program to avoid misaligned punches. The IN/OUT threshold is pre-set to 13 hours in the TimeSource Time and Attendance software. During the polling procedure each punch downloaded from the clock is compared to the previous punch already in the software. If the previous punch is an OUT punch then the TimeSource Time and Attendance software assigns the new punch as an IN punch. If the previous punch is an IN punch and the time difference between the previous IN punch and the new punch is either equal to or less than 13 hours the TimeSource Time and Attendance software assigns the new punch as the OUT punch for previous IN punch. On the other hand if the time between punches is greater than 13 hours then the TimeSource Time and Attendance software assumes the individual forgot to punch OUT for the previous day and assigns the new punch as an IN punch on a new line. Installing the NewTCRules program gives you the ability to increase the threshold to account for these longer shifts.
This program does not affect the punches of employees who select either IN or OUT at the clock when they punch. The program can be accessed from the Icon Time program group: Start > All Programs > Icon Time > New TC Rules after installation.
