TimeSource Error – “Not Able to Enter Dial String” with Modem Time Clock

KB0013: TimeSource Error – “Not Able to Enter Dial String” with Modem Time Clock

Solution:

Due to changes in modem communications, the older dial up string format, ATDT15035551212, will no long function in some cases. The changes affect only modems connecting to our TimeCalculator clocks and not to the RSI HandPunch clocks. If you are experiencing this issue and are using a version of TimeSource prior to v7.4a, you must first update your TimeSource software before the new dial up string format will function.

The new dial up string format is:

MODEM:ATE1:15035551212 or MODEM:ATE1:T15035551212.

Below is an example of the new dial up string, as it would appear in the Clock screen.

In the above example, the 15035551212 part of the dial up string is the phone number dialed to reach the clock.

If you receive the following error message “Error in phone number ATDT15035551212 ERROR” using MODEM:ATE1:15035551212 please use the second dial up string format listed above.
