Removing a Static IP address on an RTC-1000 or SB-100 PRO and making it Dynamic

KB0162: Removing a Static IP address on an RTC-1000 or SB-100 PRO and making it Dynamic

Solution:

This will allow your router to assign a DHCP or Dynamic IP address automatically to the time clock.  Make sure the Ethernet cable is connected between the clock and the router. Verify the link lights are activated underneath the clock.

  1. Press the Lock button on the keypad of the clock.
  2. Enter the security code. The default is 00 00 00.
  3. Press the Up Arrow button on the keypad until the “View IP Address option” appears. Press the Enter button.
  4. The current IP address of the clock will appear. Press the Enter button again.
  5. Enter the IP address 000 000 000 000.
  6. A message should appear on the clock “IP Address set successfully”.
  7. At the “Enter Subnet” prompt, enter 255 255 255 000
  8. A message should appear on the clock “Subnet set successfully”.
  9. At the “Enter Gateway” prompt, enter 000 000 000 000.
  10. A message should appear on the clock “Gateway set successfully”.
  11. At the “Enter DNS” prompt, enter 000 000 000 000.
  12. A message should appear on the clock “DNS set successfully”.
  13. Press the Clear button to exit out of supervisor mode.
  14. Unplug the power to the clock and plug it back in.
  15. Verify the new IP address after the clock boots up.
  16. Use this IP address in your web browser to access the log in page.

NOTE:  If a power outage causes your router to reboot, a new, different IP address may be assigned to the clock.  Reboot the clock and verify the IP address.
